Every since I’ve been working on earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Entertainment Business (I’m graduating this year on July 11), I’ve been in job-hunting mode, applying for film gigs on Craigslist, Indeed.com, and Mandy almost every single day of every week that I have been in the Bachelor degree program, which is 18 months. I didn’t know until recently that I can look for jobs on LinkedIn.com and I have had a LinkedIn account for two years. So far in the month of May alone, I have applied for internships at Fox, NBC Universal, CBS, Showtime, Maker Studios, and a theatre company that has just became a film production company in HFC Pictures.
I’m happy to say that I’m an intern at HFC Pictures (I found out about it this past Monday on Memorial Day and I begin work on June 16th. The bigger issue at hand is finding a part-time job so I can work and make enough money to live on for the time being.
Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here to tell you that job-hunting is a job without the wonderful pay, it will beat you to your knees, it will bring you tears, and make you want to quit if you let it. The most important thing is to not give up and remember, all it takes is one person to hire you for a job.
